Putting Me First: Part Six.

I don’t feel like I am putting me first much of late - so this post will be a reflection of the things I have done so far that aren’t obvious that it’s putting my first. It’s the things I do to put myself first, by putting others first.

So, in some ways choosing to put myself first meant spending time with friends and family who mean something special to me - but really spending time with them.

And, developing new friendships.

So, here are a few things I have done that is putting myself first, that has a positive impact on others…

Taking my kids to the theatre - I’ve always been a little skeptical about taking them, they are only 3 & 5 and could cause a scene - but it turns out the play was right up their street - prefect for them! And seeing how happy they were was putting me first!

Regular date nights - Finding a babysitter and having times for my husband and I wasn’t just for me - he enjoys it, and the kids enjoy it too!

Spending time with friends more - I benefit, they benefit - it’s a win win situation!

Volunteering - it’s no secret that doing good makes you feel good, I started volunteering with my local food bank. I am the youngest volunteer there by a good 15 - 30 years so I help with the tech as well as the food donations. I love it, it’s sociable and making a difference makes me feel good!

I am using this post as a reminder to myself to do something a little extra soo as a part of putting me first - but I want to ask you - what are you doing this week to put yourself first more?

Until next time, L xx
