You Did It!
Hey there,
I wanted to let you know that if you are feeling like you can’t go on, like you can’t cope or manage - I want to tell you - you are doing it right now.
Sometimes, all we can do is live moment to moment. Because doing other things is too hard.
You may be grieving, you may be living with a mental health problem, you may be having issues with family or friends and your emotions feel unbearable.
But I want to remind you that you’re living it right now.
I often hear “I can’t cope” or “I can’t live like this” to which I reply - “but you are, you’re living it. It’s painful, and it hurts, and you’re doing it.”
We feel even worse about ourselves when we compare our lives to those on social media.
We can look at someone’s life on social media, see how busy they are - working, parenting, social lives, hobbies, other commitments and wonder “I don’t know how they do it”. That comes from a feeling of awe, and sometimes jealousy.
It’s done with struggle, it’s done with ignoring other things in life (usually self care) and it’s done with stress and anxiety. Social media posts are people’s highlight reel, they are the things they CHOOSE to share with you. Comparison is absolutely the thief of joy.
So, my reminder to you today - you’re doing great. If you feel the opposite, that’s okay. You’re doing great because you’re DOING. You’re living.
YOU DID IT.
Take care,
Laura xx
