Beathe… It isn’t how you think.

Breathing is so underrated. True story.

Since meditation more regularly my connection to my breath has improved so much (crikey, sentences like this used to make me cringe), but I still need to remember to breathe deeply and slowly. Breathing helps me to be mindful and live more in the moment.

This week has been a hugely overwhelming one for me - the kids are tired, I am tired. The news is frustrating, racism is rife on social media, opinions are high on everything, and on Monday everything is closing which is bringing me some panic about how I felt in lockdown.

I’ve not been able to help myself, seeing so much racism about Ariel being played by a black woman meant I had to clap back and comment. But things like this take their emotional toil. I had a 2 hour talk with someone about how evil someone believed The Dutchess of Sussex was. It’s exhausting.

So, a breath is needed, and time to be quietly as you breathe. Time away from the internet is needed.

So I want to tell you to put your phone or laptop far away, and just spend some time breathing in as quiet as you can find.

Go and hug your loved ones too - that’s something that keeps me so grounded.

I’m off to do the same!
