Get Excited About Excitement.

This post is born out of a conversation with a friend this week… I’ve bought a reasonably exciting Christmas gift for my husband, and I am so excited about telling him! It’s not cheap, but it is an experience, and I was explaining my excitement to my friend.
She said that the value starts when you buy. And it really made me smile.

Think about when you book a holiday - the act of booking it makes you feel happy, excited and joyous. You start to plan; you feel better already, the value is being added to your life. Instantly.

And we don’t think about that when we have experiences do, we? Planning to spend time with friends we love - the value starts at the planning stage; we’re already getting benefits from the experience even before we HAVE the experience. And because we don’t always live in a world of being mindful, we miss these amazing moments of sheer exhilaration.

So, here is my question to you today - what are you excited about? Have a moment allowing yourself to sit in that excitement. There is so much joy we can get from anticipation that gets lost sometimes.

As a child excitement and anticipation of an event was standard, but as an adult we lose that so much.

I am excited for my daughter’s birthday, seeing friends, a week away with my husband, seeing my dad, Christmas!

Have a good week, see you next time, L xx
