Feeling Flat…
I’ve been chatting to lots of people lately about feeling flat and “meh” - so if this is you I want to dive into this a little more…
Maybe you feel neither here nor there, like you are having less fun than usual but maybe that you don’t WANT to reach out to have fun.
First of all - all of us feel this way from time to time - it’s kind of annoyingly a part of existing sometimes. So, you aren’t alone. I’m gonna say that again - you are not alone.
But here is a little life truth -
You will do amazing things in your life.
You will do mundane things in your life.
Both are equally as important and wonderful.
We need the mundane to recognise and appreciate the fabulous. But we also need the “meh” so we can learn. Because this flat feeling, this period in your month which is making you feel uninspired and blergh can teach you something.
How can we know what we need to learn? We need to be still and silent. We need to pause. And listen.
Ask yourself what’s happening, and dive into how you’re really feeling. Now if you aren’t used to growing your self awareness in this way it may feel a little strange, but go with it.
We always say that in communication active listening is important - so why aren’t we listening to ourselves more? Why aren’t we taking the time to listen to WHY we feel flat?
Things to bare in mind -
1) The content you are consuming - TV, social media, books, friends - if you’re surrounding yourself with people and things that make you feel horrible, then maybe change this up.
2) Are you stressed over money/ bills? - This can be one of the biggest factors in our mood and wellbeing. Do you need to address it?
3) Where are you in your monthly cycle (for those who mensurate). - This can have a massive impact on your life. Have a look at your dates!
4) How are you sleeping? - Rest and sleep have a HUGE amount to do with your mood - it’s neuroscience my lovelies. Try and focus on prioritising sleep and rest.
Let me know how you get on - you know I am a massive advocate in pausing and listening to yourself - it’s how you GROW!
Take care, L x
